Vortexas is the sole work of Juicy the Emissary's rap group in college. Though he had put together beat tapes before, this was his first release as a producer.

 

As far as rap acts go, it was kind of a weird cast and Juicy designed it that way. It has its share of heavy introspective rap. Chris H's verse in "The Vortexas Temple" walks you through his conception as a human, starting with the Big Bang: "I was the dust, nothing moving me except gravity's touch." Then in the next track "GW B!+@h," Matt P explains it differently: "Got shirts with logos. Beats bounce like pogos. Talk shit about Texas and get punch in yo' nose."
